| Bad Grout? Don't Pout. Tristar's not
far Tristar Tile and Floor Restoration combines
revolutionary state-of-the-art technology and a commitment
to old age craftsmanship to clean, seal, and stain tile
floors, counter tops, showers, or baths. "The company that
developed our equipment did an excellent job of addressing
the limitations of the old brush and chemical method of
cleaning tile and grout," says partner John Donovan. "It is
just physically impossible for a brush to get into all of
the tiny pores in a grout line, and the dirt the brush does
dislodge tends to get spread across the floor." Using a
patented high pressure hot water system, Tristar can clean
and rinse the thousands of individual pores and cracks in
the grout lines hundreds of times a minute. And then by
integrating a high volume vacuum in the process, the dirt
and debris are immediately removed leaving the surface clean
and sanitized.
After the cleaning process is completed, Tristar recommends
sealing grout to protect from future stains and reduce
maintenance. If a client is looking for a change, Tristar
can re-color grout lines to almost any color or shade to
accentuate fixtures, appliances, and tile. With the Stain
and Seal process, even terminally stained grout can have a
uniform appearance without the cost of replacing or
re-grouting the surface. New grout can also be clear sealed
to keep it looking great for years to come.
"There has been a fundamental change in how ceramic surfaces
are viewed," says Donovan. "In the past, your floor or
shower looked its best the day it was installed, after that
you had to deal with stains the best you could with elbow
grease and a brush. Now we not only clean the tile, but also
clean, stain, and seal the grout so the entire floor looks
new. And because it's sealed, it will stay that way with
regular mopping instead of back breaking scrubbing."
"Our company's goal is not to clean a floor or shower and
then have to come back in six months to do it again. We want
it to look great and stay that way without a lot of upkeep
on the customer's end," says Donovan. "Having your floors
cleaned and sealed is an excellent investment for tomorrow
that you can enjoy today. Our service is win-win, your
floor, shower, or counter top will look great for years to
come with minimal maintenance, then when it is time to sell
you won't have to deal with problem areas."
Outside the home, Tristar can clean and seal patios,
driveways, and sidewalks. "We really didn't even think about
outside surfaces until we got our equipment," says partner
Robert Walker. "We can make a sun bleached patio or driveway
look new again at a fraction of the cost."
"There is just no better feeling than hearing our clients
say 'WOW' when they see their floors restored," says Walker.
"Our bottom line is we offer a quality service to our
customers, one they feel comfortable recommending to their
friends."

Prior to founding Tristar Tile and Floor
Restoration, John Donovan spent 12 years as an Environmental Control
Technician and Supervisor at Micron Technology. In his positions, he
was responsible for the design, construction, and monitoring of
cleanrooms, the ultra clean environments necessary for manufacturing
semiconductors.
It was during his tenure at Micron that the seeds for Tristar
Tile and Floor Restoration were sown. The inherent weak spot of a
cleanroom is the floor. While gravity and air flow force particles
down and away from the semiconductors being manufactured, the floor
acts as a natural trap for these contaminates. As anyone (or
anything) moves across the floor, these particles are reintroduced
into the work environment when air vortexes around the moving body.
Because of this physical phenomenon, methods of cleaning floors
became a major concern of the technicians responsible for the
environment of these billion dollar facilities. While doing research
in his old positions, John was made aware of new technologies and
equipment used to deep clean floors.
Then, as will happen, life threw a curveball at John in the form
of a wonderful woman name Cynthia Crann. After the two were joined,
Cynthia was offered an excellent career opportunity and the couple
decided to begin a new life in Jackson, Tennessee. In researching
options for his new career, John looked to his expertise and
experience and founded Tristar Tile and Floor Restoration with a
goal of revolutionizing the floor cleaning industry by using
physics, chemistry, and state-of-the-art equipment to replace the
age old inefficient methods involving unsafe chemicals and back
breaking labor. |
